Michigan Credit Union Foundation Partners with My First Nest Egg to Provide Free Turnkey Resources for Credit Union Youth Month

Lansing, Michigan – March 18, 2025 – The Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF) has partnered with My First Nest Egg to provide member credit unions with free, turnkey financial literacy resources for Credit Union Youth Month. The Stellar Savings program offers engaging, ready-to-use materials designed to help credit unions connect with young members, reinforce the value of saving, and support lifelong financial literacy—all while saving time and resources.

The Importance of Credit Union Youth Month

Each April, Credit Union Youth Month serves as a critical opportunity for credit unions to engage young members, reinforce the value of saving, and establish lifelong financial literacy habits. However, creating engaging and educational materials from scratch can be costly and time-consuming. This partnership ensures that credit unions have access to high-quality, ready-to-use resources that make an impact without adding to their workload.

What’s Included in the Free Stellar Savings Packet?

Through this partnership, Michigan credit unions receive a fully branded, ready-to-use Youth Month packet at no cost, which includes:

Stellar Savings Galaxy Map & Activity – A space-themed financial literacy adventure with video links featuring alien guides who teach kids about saving and investing.

Mission Control Parent Guide – A resource to help families reinforce money lessons at home.

Branch Screen & Social Media Posts – Professionally designed marketing materials to drive engagement.

Distribution & Success Guide – Best practices for maximizing impact with members and the community.

Affordable Custom Branding for Credit Unions

For credit unions that want a personalized version of the Stellar Savings packet, MCUF’s generous support makes custom-branded materials available for just $100—a significant discount from the regular $300 price.

“This partnership allows Michigan credit unions to maximize their impact during Credit Union Youth Month without the burden of creating materials from scratch,” said Andrea Tucker, Executive Director of MCUF. “By providing turnkey, high-quality resources, we are equipping credit unions to engage young members, support financial education, and strengthen their communities.”

Beyond Youth Month: Continuing Financial Education Support

In addition to this initiative, MCUF and My First Nest Egg will continue working together to provide interactive financial literacy tools for children ages 3–13, helping families build healthy financial habits year-round. Michigan credit unions can benefit from grant funding with MCUF Community Enrichment Support, to help pilot financial literacy programs that bring free, high-quality resources to families and schools, ensuring long-term engagement and education.
