BRIGHTON, Mich. — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) recently partnered with Brighton’s Work Skills Corporation to support its Artisan Corner program with a $10,000 donation.
For more than 50 years, Work Skills Corporation has been helping people in Livingston County optimize their potential. The organization serves people with disabilities and other employment barriers by offering progressive educational and vocational development opportunities based on a person-centered approach.
The Artisan Corner assists local artists with the creation and sale of their artwork. The program promotes the full inclusion of emerging and established artists into all facets of the community. Finished pieces are available for purchase online and at the Artisan Corner Boutique, 100 Summit St. in Brighton.
“This program resonates with MSUFCU because it speaks to the essence of what we strive to achieve — to illuminate the path to financial security for all Credit Union members as well as a vibrant local economy for the Brighton community,” said Arianna Ridderbusch, Vice President of Community Impact at MSUFCU. “It creates equitable opportunities, and we are proud to partner with this inclusive artists’ program.”
The donation was announced during today’s grand opening of MSUFCU’s Brighton branch at 8510 W. Grand River Ave.
“We appreciate MSUFCU’s support of Artisan Corner and the Brighton community as a whole,” said Julie Smith, Foundation Development Manager at Work Skills Corporation. “It means we’re able to give more artists an opportunity to share their message and earn income.”
MSUFCU’s support of Work Skills Corporation’s Artisan Corner reflects the Credit Union’s long-standing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. Community involvement is a core value at MSUFCU, driving its dedication to fostering positive change, promoting financial education, and supporting local organizations and businesses. As the Credit Union expands its presence in Brighton, it looks forward to continuing this commitment by partnering with community organizations and area businesses to contribute to the growth and vibrancy of the local community.
