VentureTech 2024 Is a Wrap!

By John San Filippo

The seventh annual VentureTech, the credit union industry’s premier fintech showcase, was held in Frisco, Texas, Nov. 12-14. The event gave 25 fintechs the opportunity to pitch their products Shark Tank-style to an audience of credit union executives.

The first day highlighted early-stage startups in a pitch contest called the

“Launch Party,” which Finopotamus covered in an earlier article.

The main event allowed 15 more mature fintechs to pitch their wares in groups of five. Whereas Launch Party participants were given seven minutes and shared a group Q&A, these companies were each given 15-minute slots, which included individual Q&As. After each group of pitches, a winner was voted by the audience. Then at the VentureTech closing ceremonies, each of the finalists was allowed to give a three-minute mini-pitch, after which a grand prize winner was voted by the audience.

In order of appearance, the first group consisted of:

  • Nudge Money

  • Wysh

  • Savvi AI

  • ModernFi (winner)

  • Crux Analytics

In order of appearance, the second group consisted of:

  • Flourish Fi

  • AviaryAI

  • Carefull

  • Allure Security (winner)

  • Saris AI

In order of appearance, the third group consisted of:

  • LoanSense

  • LoanTerra

  • Nickels (winner)

  • Ditch

  • Coverbase

The grand prize winner of $5,000, sponsored by NACUSO, was Nickels, represented by company CEO Joseph Gracia.

“VentureTech is growing and getting better every year,” event co-founder Nick Evens told Finopotamus. “This can be attributed to fabulous fintechs and progressive credit unions coming together to move our shared digital journey forward.”

Dates for VentureTech 2025 have already been announced. The event will be back at the Omni Frisco Nov. 3-5.
